From 332.50 US dollars

Service Description

The Work This week-long comedy intensive helps actors develop the skills needed to bring comedic scenes to life through timing, character work, physicality, and bold performance choices. Working with a scene partner throughout the week, students rehearse and develop a comedic scene while exploring the techniques that make comedy work. Through scene study, performance exercises, and coaching, actors learn how to identify setups and payoffs, strengthen comedic timing, and commit fully to character choices. Throughout the week, students will: • Rehearse and develop a comedic scene with a scene partner. • Explore comedic timing, rhythm, and pacing. • Work with character archetypes and comedic behavior. • Develop physical comedy and expressive performance skills. • Analyze the structure of contemporary and classic comedy scenes. • Build a performance-ready scene for a live audience. The Result Students perform their completed comedic scenes in Act I of the Comedy to Tragedy Showcase. You'll leave with stronger comedic instincts, increased physical freedom, a clearer understanding of comedic structure, and greater confidence tackling comedy in auditions and performance.
