Service Description

The Work This week-long acting intensive combines scene study, Alba Method training, and movement work to help actors build deeper emotional connections, stronger physical awareness, and more truthful performances. Throughout the week, students work with a dedicated scene partner to rehearse and develop a dramatic scene from the ground up. Daily training focuses on scene analysis, emotional accessibility, physical expression, and the practical application of the Alba Method to performance. Throughout the week, students will: • Rehearse and develop a dramatic scene with a scene partner. • Strengthen scene analysis and character work. • Train in the Alba Method to safely and reliably access emotional states. • Explore movement and physical awareness as acting tools. • Build a performance-ready scene for a live audience. The Result Students perform their completed dramatic scenes in Act II of the Comedy to Tragedy Showcase. You'll leave with stronger scene study skills, practical Alba Method tools, increased physical awareness, and a deeper understanding of emotional storytelling. Summer Faculty LACAE Summer Intensives are taught by working industry professionals drawn from our faculty roster and guest artists. Instructors vary by workshop.
