Tap For Performers
Service Description
The Work Whether you've always wanted to try tap dance, haven't tapped in years, or are simply looking for a fun way to move and connect with rhythm, this 4-week workshop is designed to meet you where you are. Led by professional performer and educator Kate Roth, this welcoming, high-energy class focuses on learning through play, curiosity, and repetition. Each session builds on the needs and progress of the group. Some weeks may introduce new combinations and rhythms, while others may focus on reviewing, refining, and expanding material already learned. The goal isn't Broadway, it's participation, exploration, and enjoying the process. Students will work on: • Tap Fundamentals – Learn essential steps, rhythms, terminology, and footwork in an approachable, beginner-friendly environment. • Musicality – Develop a stronger connection to rhythm, timing, and listening through movement. • Coordination & Movement – Explore balance, body awareness, and movement patterns that support performers of all backgrounds. • Combination Work – Learn short tap phrases and routines that evolve based on the pace and interests of the class. • Review & Skill Building – Revisit material regularly to strengthen technique, reinforce learning, and build confidence. • Ensemble Energy – Experience the fun of creating rhythm together in a collaborative, encouraging group environment. The Result You'll spend four weeks moving, learning, and making music with your feet while building comfort with tap dance in a supportive, low-pressure environment. Whether you're brand new to tap or returning after time away, you'll leave with new rhythms, new skills, and a deeper appreciation for the joy of movement.
