  • That’s because we’re brand new and intentionally different!

LACAE was founded by the nonprofit Future Artists of Los Angeles and was created by working artists for artists, with a mission to bridge the gap between traditional actor training and real-world industry success. While our organization is new, our faculty and leadership bring decades of combined experience in performance and education.

Our teachers have performed, worked and taught across Broadway, film, television, commercials, live comedy, and voice-over, and have served on the faculties of renowned institutions such as The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, The Art of Acting Studio, USC, and more.

We’ve come together to build something fresh,  a modern, collaborative training community designed to meet the needs of today’s multihyphenate artist.

  • While our school is new to the game, our faculty is very much established.  With a combined teaching experience of over 120 years, our teachers are a remarkable blend of master teachers and current industry professionals. This dynamic combination ensures that our students receive top-tier training while also gaining practical insights from individuals actively engaged in their fields. • LACAE is at 11031 Camarillo Street, North Hollywood, CA 91602 behind St. Matthew's Church. Street parking is available.

  • Our workshops are independent sessions designed to explore a variety of subjects in acting and entertainment. Unlike our professional training program, workshops do not require an admissions process and are open to anyone who registers.

What ages are the workshops for?

We offer workshops for both teens and adults:

    • Our Youth and High School Intensive Series is designed for students ages 9–17.

    • Our adult workshops are open to participants 18 and older.

ACT III is a year-long professional development academic certificate program offered in collaboration with the Los Angeles Performing Arts Conservatory. It is for students who have completed at least two years of post-secondary acting training and/or who have requisite professional experience.

  • No experience is required unless otherwise noted in the workshop description. Most of our workshops are designed to be accessible to beginners while still offering value to more experienced participants.

  • Each workshop may have slightly different requirements. After you register, we’ll send an email with any materials to bring, dress code (if applicable), or prep work. Generally, we recommend wearing comfortable clothing and bringing a notebook and water bottle.

  • We understand that life happens. If you need to miss a class, just let us know and we’ll inform the instructor. While we encourage full participation, it’s completely fine if you can’t attend every session.

  • Details about cancellations, refunds, and credits for our Workshops and Intensives can be found in our Terms of Service. Please review them carefully before registering. ACT III policies will be extensively covered in your Enrollment Agreement with LAPAC.

  • Adults cannot drop in to our workshops, but LACAE offers several drop-in classes that are open to all adults. This includes Kate Roth’s tap class and our FALA Community classes, like the FALA Family Workshop. While workshops require program enrollment, these drop-in options let adults explore different types of training and experience our approach before committing to a full program.

Both our workshops and community classes are a fantastic way to get to know our teaching style and community, especially for anyone considering enrollment in the full ACT III Professional Development year!

To see a full listing of workshops and community classes please visit our Workshops page.

  • Absolutely. All youth workshops are staffed by qualified instructors and supervised at all times. We follow best practices for youth safety and maintain a low student-to-teacher ratio to ensure a positive and attentive learning environment.

  • Some workshops may have limited financial assistance or discounts available. Please reach out to us directly if cost is a barrier, we want our programming to be accessible.
