ACT III: Professional Acting Certificate

in Los Angeles

ACT III is a one-year professional acting certificate in Los Angeles for artists ready to turn training into a real career in film, television, theater, and digital media.

This conservatory-style program combines professional acting training, creative production, and career development so you can sharpen your craft while building the materials and skills needed to work in today’s industry.

Unlike traditional multi-year conservatories, ACT III is built as a focused one-year experience. Students train like working actors, create original work, and develop the strategy needed to navigate the entertainment industry.

The program is structured to support actors who are actively pursuing opportunities. Class schedules allow students to audition, collaborate on outside projects, and begin building a professional presence while they train.

ACT III was developed through a collaboration between the Los Angeles Performing Arts Conservatory (LAPAC) and the Los Angeles Community of Acting & Entertainment (LACAE). Students enroll through LAPAC, gaining access to its Hollywood campus, professional equipment, and 20+ years of conservatory training experience. Through LACAE, students participate in ACT III’s creative workshops, industry programming, and performances in an active Los Angeles theater environment.

Actors graduate with professional portfolio materials, industry experience, and the confidence to move forward in their careers.

What Makes ACT III A Career Accelerator?

Structured around five pillars of professional acting and creative career launch, ACT III ensures that students receive comprehensive training while building real-world career momentum in Los Angeles.

Four Comprehensive Areas of Focus

​There will be an Industry Professional Masterclass or Workshop as well as three one-on-one mentoring sessions in every quarter.

Film

Topics include Pathology Key, On-Camera Dynamics, Business of Producing, and Film Script Analysis. Culminates with a short film festival featuring work created by students. 

Television 

Topics include Booking the Commercial, Acting For Television Genres, Writing Your Pilot, and Voice-Over Technique.  Culminates with a screening of recorded Television scenes featuring the students.  

Digital Media + Content Creation

Topics include Stand Up Comedy, Launching Your Career, and Digital Content Creation. Culminates in a professional showcase for an invited audience of industry professionals.


 

Theatre

Topics include Advanced Acting Techniques, Rehearsal, and the Character Key. Culminates in a live theatre performance
