If you’ve been curious about how we train at LACAE, this is your way into the room. The LACAE Lab is a three-hour working intensive that reflects how we approach actors: craft and career in the same conversation, practical tools over theory, and honest discussion about what it takes to move forward in your acting career. There will be three min-intensives throughout the day: Mindset + Career Direction Erin Coleman & Adam Chambers We’ll start with the bigger picture. What’s happening in the industry right now? Where are actors losing traction? What does real momentum look like? This hour focuses on clarity and ownership. You’ll leave with specific advice on adjustments you can make in your approach, materials, mindset, and next steps. Short-Form Improv for Auditions Erin Coleman Improv sharpens instinct and confidence. We’ll explore how short-form tools strengthen commercial reads, build cleaner buttons in self-tapes, and keep your choices active rather than stiff. We’ll also touch on how this agility supports writing and creating your own work. Emotional Access: Process Over Panic Adam Chambers Strong emotional work comes from control, not chaos. Adam will guide you through a repeatable process for accessing depth in a grounded, sustainable way. About the Instructors Erin Coleman is a founding member of Future Artists of Los Angeles and Executive Director of LACAE. She has worked professionally as an actor, director, and producer for over 15 years with credits on Peacock, Showtime, FX, ABC, and Fox, and live at Chicago Women’s Funny Festival, SF Sketchfest, and the Second City Diversity in Comedy Festival. Her teaching connects creative instinct with long-term career strategy. Adam Chambers brings more than two decades of teaching experience to the classroom. His approach helps actors identify their strengths and develop repeatable processes they can rely on under pressure. As a working industry professional, he grounds technique in the realities of today’s audition landscape.
