Service Description

Spend winter break creating, rehearsing, and performing at LACAE Theater! Future Artists Winter Camp brings young performers together for a week of musical theater, acting, improv, and stage combat, culminating in a live showcase on the LACAE Stage for family and friends. Throughout the week, campers will build a show. MUSICAL THEATER -Rehearse a medley of popular Broadway songs featuring ensemble numbers, solo opportunities, movement, and choreography. ACTING -Work on selected scenes and monologues, developing characters and making strong, specific choices for the stage. IMPROV - Play, take risks, think on your feet, and develop the listening and ensemble instincts that make performers stronger collaborators. STAGE COMBAT -Learn how actors create the illusion of a fight while keeping their scene partners safe. Campers will explore age-appropriate, G-to-PG staged combat techniques and put those skills to work in a staged battle for the final showcase. Each discipline becomes part of the final performance, giving campers opportunities to shine individually while building something together as a company. Campers will work in age-appropriate youth and teen groups throughout the week, with scenes, material, and instruction matched to their age and experience. Select activities and ensemble rehearsals will bring the full company together as they build toward their final performance on the LACAE Stage.
